Good Samaritan Fund
The Good Samaritan Fund was initiated at
Ukrainian Canadian Social Services
(Toronto) in October 2000 to assist
members of the Ukrainian ethno-cultural
community in extreme or extraordinary
situations, where all other possible
avenues of support have been exhausted.
Criteria have been established to
assess
need and determine suitability for
assistance through the Fund's special
fundraising drives.
For more information about the Good Samaritan Fund, and intake procedures,
please contact the Social Service Office at 416-763-4982.
Ochrymowych Memorial Scholarship Fund
This Fund was set up in memory of Markian Ochrymowych,
founder and long
time President of the Toronto branch of
Ukrainian Canadian Social Services. The
aim of the Fund is
to provide financial assistance, in the form of a Scholarship,
to
full-time university or college students working towards
a degree or diploma in
the social service field. The hope is
that, upon completion of their studies, they
will follow in
the footsteps of Markian Ochrymowych, using their skills
towards
helping less fortunate members of the Ukrainian
Canadian community.
A one-time Scholarship in the amount of $500 is available annually to applicants who satisfy the established criteria and submit a completed application by the deadline date.
Applications can be picked up at Ukrainian Canadian Social Services (Toronto) or, please click here to download an Ochrymowych Scholarship Fund application form.
Kowalyshyn/Maruszczak Fund
This Fund was set up in 1988 after a donation of $7,000 was made to Ukrainian
Canadian Social Services (Toronto) by Olena Kowalyshyn and Dmytro Maruszczak. They requested that interest accumulated annually from this
contribution be used to provide financial assistance to needy students of
Ukrainian ethnocultural background in Brazil and/or Ukraine.
For more information about any of these Special Assistance Programs, please
